Important Changes in eIMP Online

Prior to July 1 2025, eIMP Online was being used for research purposes as described in the Professional Information Statement. This was approved by Macquarie University’s Human Research Ethics Committee, Approval No. 10402. The Ethics Committee approval expired on June 30 2025.

When you registered you accepted the Professional Information Statement and its associated conditions of use.

From June 30 2025, the eIMP is no longer used for research purposes and no de-identified data will be kept for that purpose.

eIMP Online is a valuable assessment tool for infants’ vocal development from birth to 12 months and NextSense will continue to provide eIMP Online on a commercial basis from July 1 2025. Each new Client/Child Record created from July 1 2025 will incur a small charge.

Professionals who registered and created Client/Child Records prior to June 30 2025 will be able to continue to access those records using their Child Key free of charge. Only new Client/Child Records created after July 1 2025 will incur the new charge. Read more detail on our new Pricing model.

NOTE: Your registered email address entitles you to an unrestricted license meaning you will not be required to purchase licenses for each new Client/Child Record you create.

Privacy Statement – Use of the e-IMP Online Tool

We are committed to protecting the confidentiality of both you (as a professional user) and the families you work with. All information collected through the e-IMP Online is handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (‘The Act’) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Collection and Use of Information:

NextSense collects basic personal information about users during registration for the purpose of:

• Managing access to the e-IMP Online platform.
• Providing system support and communication.
• Ensuring system security.

This may include your name, organisation, email address, and country of practice. This information is not used for any secondary purposes.

Access and Data Use:

Key privacy protections include:

• Only registered users with a secure login can access e-IMP Online and each user can only access the data of clients they have entered into the system.
• NextSense and its administrators do not have access to client data entered by users.
• Client records are linked exclusively to your user login and are not accessible to other professional or external parties.
• You may withdraw from e-IMP Online use at any time, and if you desire to do so, you can manually delete your client data using your unique username and login key.

Data Storage and Security:

• All data entered into the e-IMP Online platform is stored securely on servers located in Australia, managed by NextSense (ABN: 53 443 272 865).
• Users based outside of Australia may access the platform, but data remains stored on Australian servers and is protected under The Act. We do not transfer or hold personal data overseas or to third parties unless it is necessary and we are confident that the equivalent privacy protections are in place.
• Access to client data is limited to the individual user who created the client record and is protected via password authentication. The link between identity and subject-ID code will be known only to you, the professional source of e-IMP Online data.

Disclosure of Information:

NextSense will not disclose any personal information (of users of clients) to third parties except:

• Where required by Australian law
• Where necessary for the secure operation of the platform.

NextSense does not use or share client data for research, analysis, or promotional purposes. Users are solely responsible for managing the data they input.

Privacy and Confidentiality:

• Client data should be entered in accordance with your organisation’s policies and the relevant privacy legislation applicable in your jurisdiction.
• You are responsible for ensuring that you have appropriate consent from parents or guardian before entering client data.
• NextSense does not collect or retain any client specific data for any purpose.
• Users are advised not to enter sensitive or identifying information beyond what is necessary for effective use of the tool.

Professional Responsibilities:

As a user of the e-IMP Online Tool, you agree to:

• Keep your login credentials secure and not share access with others.
• Use the platform only for its intended clinical and educational purposes.
• Obtain appropriate consent from parents or guardians before inputting any data.
• Ensure that data is entered in compliance with relevant legal, ethical, and organisational requirements.

Changes to this Privacy Statement:

This Privacy Statement may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in legal obligations, system functionality, or data-handling practices. When significant changes are made, users will be notified through the e-IMP Online platform or by email. The most current version will always be available on the website.
